Jimmaa Jawwii Development Association (JJDA) is a non-profit organization that operates with a focus on charitable, educational, and scientific objectives. The organization is dedicated to making a positive and lasting impact on communities and individuals from the Jimmaa Gannatii and Jimmaa Raaree areas and the diasporas from these regions.

How it works

Vision:

JJDA aspires to spur community development through empowerment and collaboration. By uniting the diaspora and the home districts, and by capitalizing on the talents of professionals, the association aspires to make a positive impact on social, economic, and environmental aspects of Jimmaa Gannati and Jimmaa Raaree districts in Oromia.

Mission:

By tapping into the intellectual and financial resources from its diaspora, the JJDA endeavors to address the humanitarian and development needs of the JJ community. Through promoting education, productive engagement and positive behavioral changes, the association aims to contribute to the long-term well-being and economic development of Jimmaa Oromo community

Goals:

Goals: The organization’s specific goals and purposes revolve around creating a strong and supportive community among Oromos from Jimmaa Ganaatii and Jimmaa Raaree districts based on:

A. Fostering cooperation, cultivating a communityminded spirit, and facilitating mutual support among the Jimmaa Oromo communities. Share communal joys, successes, and challenges of all kinds on a regular basis.

B. Providing technological and educational assistance to the Jimmaa Oromo communities. Enhance access to learning, technology, and material resources to JJ people at home.

C. Providing assistance to immigrants from Jimmaa to facilitate their resettlement and integration into communities in North America and other regions. Provide support, information, and motivations to target individuals as they begin resettling abroad.

D. Promoting the unique Oromo cultural heritage, particularly that of the local Jimmaa Oromo communities. Promote the unique Oromo cultural heritage native to JJ such as horse ride pride traditional foods, social support systems, and entertainments.

E. Supporting research and development strategies that may enhance the well-being of the Jimmaa Oromo communities. Support Oromo communities through targeted research, educational, healthcare, and environmental objectives aimed at lasting change within the community.

F. Fostering partnerships with various entities, both domestically and internationally, to further the organization's mission and objectives. Building partnerships, cooperation and networks with various stakeholders potentially enhancing our objectives in a synergistic, holistic, and sustainable manner.

OFFICERS

The day-to-day activities of the Association are led by The Board of Directors elected by the General Assembly for a term of two years. Current officers are:
